Short description

ARGO project will be dedicated to explore innovative activities with focus on strong international, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral cooperation in fields of chemistry, biomaterials, nanotechnology, microbiology, cell biology and dentistry. ARGO network will involve academic and industrial partners from EU MS and associated countries with the aim to open potential for innovative solutions in nanomaterials and clinical dentistry.

The primary research goal of the project is to facilitate R&I activities with complementary competences of participant organizations for development of new antibacterial materials for dentistry, particular for the development a new antibacterial root-filling material.

The project will be realized through the tight cooperation between partner organizations to create synergies for development and testing of innovative biomaterials for dentistry. The innovative technologies will be used to produce a root-filling material with nanoparticles with tailored biological and antibacterial properties. Evaluation of a new biomaterials with silver nanoparticles in vitro will be carried out on a specially designed tooth model. Biocompatibility and in-vivo assessment will be used to prove antibacterial effect of the new biomaterial on a relevant animal model.

Interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral secondment will be the main tool for project realization with aim of strengthening research, training, communication and networking capacities of participant organizations and knowledge transfer from academia to industry and vice versa. Proposed research and training goals will lead to increased research, transferable skills and competences of early stage researcher with the aim to improve employability and career perspectives in both academic and industrial sectors. Public dissemination of new research results will increase the awareness in the general society of the role of research and researchers in development of EU as a leading destination for R&I.
