Another substantial result of our ongoing fruitful cooperation between the University of Latvia (Latvia) and Sumy State University (Ukraine) has been achieved!
Two of our bilateral projects have been approved for funding under the Latvian-Ukrainian Bilateral Cooperation Programme. The initiative was established with the Agreement on Joint Programme of Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia to support research projects implemented by representatives of both countries and exchange visits of scientists and specialists for the purposes of expanding scientific network.
This program is highly competitive. However, this year we got two projects – which is an accomplishment by itself!
The successful projects are:
1. Novel copper-loaded wound healing patches with advanced regeneration capacity and antibacterial effect (Principal investigators: Professor Roman Moskalenko and Professor Maksym Pogorielov).
2. Implementation of 2D bi-layered nano-membranes for guided tissue regeneration in endo-perio lesions and periimplantitis (Principal Investigators: Dr. Sergiy Kyrylenko and Dr. Viktoriia Korniienko).
The partnership between Latvia and Ukraine has no borders! We will do our best to achieve the project aims and to broaden our ongoing cooperation. We hope project outcomes will have a broad scientific, economic and societal impact in both partner countries.
